The Native Plant Nursery at Half Moon Bay is located outdoors at Francis Beach, next to the rangers’ offices. Each year over 5000 plants are readied by late summer for the fall planting season that starts after the first heavy rains.
Nursery volunteers meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays; the tasks are dependent on the time of year.
If you are interested in native plant restoration, working in the Native Plant Nursery is a rewarding volunteer commitment with very visible results. Anyone interested in assisting at the nursery or with planting in the parks should contact the volunteer coordinator at 1-650-726-8819 or email HMBParksVolunteer@Parks.ca.gov. We hope that you’ll consider joining this dedicated group of volunteers.
